Portfolio
Here at Design Triumph, we get two kinds of clients:
Knowing what you want is great - so long as the client is open to suggestions, these projects always turn out great. Not knowing exactly what you want is okay too - it opens up the door for all kinds of creativity, so you know you'll get something fresh. Either way, we provide the expertise to make your ideas (or lack thereof) a reality.
Here are some of the projects that we've done.
Chessi.ca
Chessi.ca is a mean chess robot. When it comes to chess, she can see far into the future - unless you put it on easy mode. The Chessi.ca project is an artificial intelligence experiment. It uses a genetic algorithm, and a custom evaluation function to determine Chessi.ca's moves. The level of challenge is determined by how many moves she can see into the future (the 'ply').
In order to maximize usability, javascript was used extensively for move selection. The user is able to select one of their pieces, and see all of the possible moves they can make.
In order to make the game as seamless as possible, AJAX was used to do the server communication. This means that instead of having to refresh the entire page to get Chessi.ca's next move, data is sent and received through the page, and the page is simply updated.
Turnstyle Design Build
The Turnstyle Design Build project consisted of a flashy splash page. It creatively showcases some of the company's portfolio, as well as linking to the rest of their pages.
The client knew what they wanted, and provided us with an image of how they wanted it to look. The style had to be consistent, because it had to mesh with the rest of their website. However the way in which the photographs of their work were displayed was up to us. As we like to say, this was our creative opening.
The finished product shows off the portfolio pictures in a nifty way. It displays them at a random rotation, and when they are hovered over by the mouse, they rotate to their upright angle, and come to the front of the other pictures. This saves space, but more importantly it's a little eye candy that doesn't go overboard.
The menu supports sub-menus, so when you mouse over a parent link, the child links are displayed beneath. Once again, this saves space, and goes in hand with the minimalist style.
Tairic Controls
Some people believe cost-efficiency and beauty don't go together. The Tairic Controls project attempts to prove these people wrong.
The main purpose of the Tairic Controls website was to give information about their services, and provide a way to contact the company. They knew they needed a website to get their company internet exposure, but didn't know what information they wanted to share, or how they wanted to present it. Using only their business card as a reference point, the website was created. Using a clean layout with information as its focus, the website achieves its goals.
